Fall Tours at Christian Way Farm

Fall on the farm is harvest time.  We are open during the week by appointment and to the general public on Saturdays, starting mid-September.  We usually close by early November, but that is determined primarily by requests for scheduled tours on into November.

For scheduled tours the following activities are included in the admission price:

Story time:
We will spend time talking about farming, pumpkins, animals and other crops on our farm.  Each group that visits will be told a story with a pumpkin that encourages making wise

Tractor/wagon or truck ride:
Travel to/from the pumpkin patch in our wagon or truck, depending on size of the group.

Corn maze:
To find your way to the pumpkin patch we encourage a trip through the corn maze.  When possible we will have two mazes so that one of them is an easier walk for those who don't want the challenge of getting lost in the corn.  Often people are looking for the extremely complicated maze.  That is not what we offer, but more just a fun jaunt through the corn as you search for the patch with the prize pumpkin!

Pumpkin Patch:
Admission includes our visitor's choice of a pumpkin straight from the patch.  We provide markers for teachers to label pumpkins and will help carry pumpkins from the patch to buses/vehicles.

Shelling/cracking corn:
With equipment that is over 75 years old, our visitors can shell and crack the corn to feed to the animals.

Feeding the animals:
We offer an assortment of animals for our visitors to pet and feed:  cows, goats, sheep, pigs, chickens, and a donkey.

Playtime:
A trip to the farm is not complete without playtime!  The Straw Castle is becoming a favorite but is only available in the fall.  The corn trucks will be available as in the spring and summer.  (Remember to remove shoes so you don't carry your shoes full of corn when you leave!) The tricycle track will be available and we have a small swing set for our youngest visitors. Stop by our photo gallery to see these fun fall attractions!

Lunchtime:
Picnic areas are available for your use.  Visitors need to bring their food, but we have water and lemonade available for our guests at no charge.  Canned sodas and bottled water are available for purchase.

A group tour typically takes 1.5 to 2 hours for the guided part of the tour, depending on the size of the group.  You should allow extra time for playtime and for lunchtime.  We try to schedule groups so that you have ample opportunity to play and enjoy the picnic are.  Depending on the time of your tour, your playtime and/or lunchtime might occur before your tour.  That can be discussed at the time we schedule your tour.

Restroom Facility:
Check out our new "old" facilities. It may look like an outhouse, but you'll be pleasantly surprised at the modern conveniences in an old farm building.
